Hi,

I am currently selling my car and a potential buyer has asked to do a pre-inspection. During the pre-inspection at Continental cars the window has been damaged an no longer comes up. Window was in fine working condition prior to being taken there.

They claim that while testing the functionality of the window it has broken and the window has fell down in the door. Who is responsible for fixing the damage to get the window repaired.

Thanks

Hi there,
As unfortunate as it is, the technician would be undertaking a normal test procedure by pressing the down button to test the window operation. They would not be a sole cause of the window damage and thus could not be held responsible for its repair. There was nothing they could have done to prevent this occurrence and it could happen to anyone.
It would be a different story if they had been working in the area and damaged a component, or had to remove it for something and didn't take care when re-installing.
