Hi - I'm looking at buying a VW Golf (1.6) or Mazda Axela second hand. Can you give me any info about service, maintenance costs of these cars when they are about 7-10 years old?

Hi there,
Both these cars are great choices however as they get older, European cars might start costing a little more to maintain and repair than the Japanese manufactured ones.
So for vehicles 7-10 years old I would recommend the Mazda brand.
