I have been doing some voluntary work and am expected to claim for my running costs. How much do you think this should be on my diesel Discovery (2004)? Current capital value of the Discovery is about $15000.

Hi there,
Our running costs are for new vehicles for the first 5 years of ownership. They reflect
depreciation as part of the calculation, so won't apply for you.
However I would use 77c per km the IRD recommend which is an average of ours combined.
