My employer had been reimbursing me at the 77 cents rate for the last few years (74 cents previously). They are now trying to change this as the IRD states that it does not apply to motorbikes. How are the rates calculated? and what would be an acceptable rate for a motorbike.

I believe that a small car would be about the same as a motorbike.

We are not aware of a running cost report for motorbikes. The running costs for a small petrol vehicle is 53.2 cents/km but this is calculated for vehicles less than five years old.
