i am thinking of buying a 2005 Volvo s60 what sort of mpg should I expect Thanks

These cars do have a reputation for being thirsty, but depending on which engine, some are a little better than others.
As a quick reference for MPG (as we generally use L/100km in New Zealand), see the table at the bottom of this Volvo Club UK website S60 page.
These seem to range between 10L/100km to 15L/100km.
