I cannot work out how to calculate commercial rates.
What is mileage rate for Toyota Hiace 2.4L diesel loaded and
Also rate for Ford Transit 2.4L diesel fully loaded please?

The running costs we calculate is for a vehicle with up to a GVM of 3500kg. The 2.4L engine size vehicle running costs are 81.6c/km.

The calculations are based on the first 5 years of a NZ new vehicle. Realistically if your vehicle is older the vehicle will have depreciated significantly and fixed costs will be minimal.

The fair rate needs to be negotiated by the employee and the employer for older vehicles if these figures are being used for reimbursement purposes.

On older vehicles the fixed costs might need to be adjusted downward while the day-to-day running costs could require an increase for unforeseen costly mechanical repairs. But the result may reduce the overall running cost as the depreciation is the biggest cost.
