Hello,

Could you please enlighten me with having small car using petrol 95 vs 91.
average annually 13,000 KM I am thinking buying new car either Citreon C4 ( manual ) or Toyota Yaris Sedan.

I was advised by a pump attendant - even though cost of petrol 95 a lot higher than petrol 91. However, in the long run using 95 more economically than 91, is this true ?

Regards

You should use the manufacturers minimum recommended fuel octane rating for your vehicle. You will not gain much by using a higher octane fuel (95) than what is recommended. The performance and fuel consumption gains are marginal with a higher octane fuel and if you consider the premium price difference of roughly 8 cents/l you will end up paying slightly more to travel the same distance than you would travel on regular 91 octane.

If your vehicle is recommended to run on 91 octane fuel then stick with it.
