I have just purchased A Mazda MPV 2004 and the dealer recommended using 95 octane fuel. He said that it would improve performance and mileage. Is this correct?
Our information is that the MPV is designed to run on 91. Therefore, this is the most cost-effective fuel to use.
While you may travel slightly further on 95, tests we have done conclude that due to the extra cost of the higher octane fuel, there is no advantage in using 95.
