Hi, We have a 1996 Petrol Nissan Regulus, that is expensive to run, cost over $120 to fill when empty,Costs us $250 from Kaitaia to Auckland return.
It is lovely and comfy to drive and only use it when we have too, long trips, beach fishing when more than 2 of us,(have a small Susuki vitara for this) but was wanting to know if there is a van 4x4 comfortable to drive but fuel efficent???

Can you give us an indication as to the budget and will you be considering SUVs?

Up to $8000 and yes would consider suv,

In this price range the 2.0L Toyota RAV4 or 2.0L Honda CRV are good choices but fuel consumption will be around the 10L/100km and off-road ability won't be as good as the Nissan Regulas.
