For a vehicle such as this, the overall running costs are not easy to determine as there are so many factors that contribute to running costs. The biggest factor by far is the overal cost and depreciation of the vehicle.
While an average running cost for a 2.2 litre diesel vehicle would be around .82c per km, this is based on an average vehicle with a new value of around $50k, travelling 14,000km per year. Given that this vehicle's value is (presumably) around twice that and the mileage is an unknown, the overall running cost is likely to be considerably more.
For example, if you paid $100k for the vehicle and travelled 5,000km in it, then sold it in 12 months time for $90k, the actual cost (without interest, fuel, servicing, registration, RUC, insurance etc) would be $2 per km.
The Peugeot 2.2 diesel is a good, economical engine, so if you're talking fuel consumption alone, I'd guess this vehicle would return approximately 12L/100km, driven carefully (although as we don't have specific data on motorhomes or vehicles such as this, this is just a guess).
Thanks for the quick reply!
I was considering a 2 year ownership at about 4000k a year and hadn't given any thought to depreciation!
Very useful information!
