We are looking at buying a motorhome, mostly for living in - at a caravan park, but occasional trips. Our budget requires it be older, probably 25-35 years. Can you give us any idea of maintenance costs? eg WOF costs, major engine/gearbox/diff etc repairs

Unfortunately, old bus/motorhomes are not really our area of expertise. We carry out annual running cost calculations on vehicles up to 3.5 tonne - but even then, we take samples of vehicles up to 5 years old.
Suffice to say that maintenance, service and repair costs on an older heavy vehicle are likely to be fairly steep.
Perhaps someone reading this will have operated a house-bus type vehicle and can give you some idea of their experience.
