Hello have the above car is it ok to run this on 91 or do we need to run this on 95?.

91 octane fuel is fine for this model.

Hello I've just been told by a Subaru dealer , No ex Japan Subaru should run on 91, as they are all tuned to run on 95, was also told Japan doesn't have 91.
The only Subaru that should run on 91 are New Zealand new
Can you confirm this

From 2004 both NZ and Japanese domestic market 2.5 models can run on 91. Some earlier DOHC models had a higher compression ratio and required 95 to prevent pinking. Your 2005 2.5 Outback can safely run on 91 whether it in NZ New or an Import.
