I have a Mitsubishi RVR which according to the hand book has a 40 L tank.
Is it possible to fill with 45 L?
Either my tank is bigger than 40 L or the pump dispensing the fuel is giving the wrong reading!
I have just had a fill of 45L and am concerned that I may have been overcharged.
Is there any way we can check to see if the pumps have been certified as 100% accurate?
Thanks
A 40 litre tank doesn't sound right to us - that would be a very small tank. You don't mention the year of your RVR, but according to our data, the early model RVR has a 55 litre tank and later ones have up to 63 litre capacity.
On occasion, it may be possible to fill an empty tank with a small amount more than the manufacturer's stated capacity if you fill to the brim, due to the additional capacity in the filling tube, but it would not be 5 litres more.
Pumps are checked for accuracy on a regular basis, so it would be highly unlikely for the pump to be over 10% out.
Thank you for your prompt reply. All is well.
