Dear Jack,

I've recently purchased a 1988 Alfa Romeo Sprint 1700 coupe (twin carb model). Does this vehicle require a fuel additive such as fuelmaster to protect the valves, or are the valves hardened and able to run on unleaded petrol? I'd be grateful for your advice.

I suspect no fuel additive is required but I suggest you make contact with a Alfa car club to confirm.
