I was interested in the unbundled price of fuel in respect to the different taxes added per litre.
How much and what are the individual tax components that the Government and associated bodies add to petrol today?

Aside from the current 22 cents in GST paid per litre of petrol, there are additional fixed taxes of 52.5 cents per litre. These are made up of:
42.5c National Land Transport Fund (all monies dedicated to transport funding)
9.34c ACC levy
0.66c Local Authorities Petroleum Tax (note, this is not a regional fuel tax)
0.025c Petroleum Fuels Monitoring Levy
