I am inquiring re fuel economy when in cruise control, I note that the vehicle does tend to 'rev up' when climbing a slight rise on the road and have thoughts that perhaps cruise control should only be used on roads in the Manawatu or Canterbury where it is mainly flat
Cruise control should only be used when travelling on the open highway where a consistent and legal speed limit can be maintained for long periods.
However, if weather conditions are such that a driver is constantly having to slow or brake, then cruise control should not be activated.
Used appropriately cruise control can definitely help reduce fuel consumption particularly in comparison to a driver who drives with an erratic throttle movement.
