I would like to buy a car right now, but won't be driving it for 6 months.
Regarding placing the registration on hold, do you know if there are any fees to pay initially or at time of reinstatement.

There is no cost to place the registration on hold and the only costs to reinstate the registration will be for a Warrant of Fitness inspection and the normal registration fees.
Go to a vehicle testing station or place of registration to complete the necessary forms or the service is available on-line.
