I have a 2007 2.4L Outlander which I purchased several years ago. I have always put 91 octane fuel in it, but recently when doing a deep clean I noticed a sticker placed out of normal sight on the petrol flap that said to use 95 or higher. The sticker has the logo of the garage I bought the car from, not Mitsubishi.
Am I doing harm to the engine by using the lower octane fuel?
If I change fuel type now, do I risk harm and what should I be looking for in terms of differences in the drive?
Hello, according to our data this engine only requires regular 91 octane.
it should be fine to continue with this fuel.
Great - thanks for the info
