Hi AA expert,

I got a 2007 Nissan Skyline 250GT. According to the data showing from the dashboard, the average fuel consumption is always 7.7km/Litre (13L/100km). Although I mainly drive it to go to work during peak time, but I feel this is still much higher than I expected and learned from other users' experiences. I normally don't push the accelerator too hard. Do you think this fuel consumption is normal? Is there anything I can do to lower the figure?
Thanks!

Hi there,
The concrete proof would be to do a consumption test yourself, however it is usually quite common to have quite high consumption around town especially in congested traffic.
There are usually 3 figures quoted, urban, combined, and highway. I would expect a combined figure say 9-10L/100km with sole highway driving around 8-9.
To me this figure doesn't sound high enough to suspect a major problem.
Maybe look into checking and replacing things if required like air filter, sparkplugs, fuel filter and checking tyre pressures are 32-34Psi.
