I am sales rep and currently have a Kia Sportage 2ltr as a company car with full personal use outside business. Current lease is through fleet lease 3yr/75K. It is up for renewal and the company has given me the option of a replacement of the Kia, or a vehicle allowance.
How much should the company be offering to compensate this current car?
In buying a car for company use, are there any fish hooks in FBT, insurance etc?
Most companies use the employees job position as a guide to what is a fair amount to be paid.
Figures ranging between $16K - $24K have been mentioned during my research on this topic but use that as a guide only.
Remember this is a taxable income and a company fuel card is not always included in these packages either.
Insurance may also be your responsibility unless you can negotiate otherwise.
