Hi looking at purchasing a vehicle to tow a single horse float + horse around.
Not sure what options would best suit us.
Can we get away with a smaller SUV? ie Hyundai Tucson, or a ford territory?

Hi there,
You would need to know the weight you will be towing, but most of these smaller SUV's would have an unbraked tow rating of around 750kg and a braked capacity of around the 1,600kg mark. The average horse weights between 4-700kg plus a few hundred for a float so you would be easily reaching the 1,200kg mark.
The Tucson range starts around the 1,600kg, the Mazda CX5 1,800kg, Territory 1,600kg as some examples, vehicles with CVT transmissions may struggle a bit though (Honda HRV, Nissan Qashqai)
