I have a Rover Hatchback that needs repairs on the transmission. Vehicle is fully serviced and WOF approved. To be more specific there is a faint sound coming from the transmission when in park mode. The local mechanic a while back showed me that it disappears when I rev the engine. Vehicle is operational but I noticed the engine kills off when I slow right down to a halt which is not ideal. I'm hoping you can confirm if you do these sort of repairs. I havn't had a good experience with local mechanics since they charge alot and never actually fix the problem. Greatly appreciate the attention.
Thanks, Josh

This car is a specialized vehicle so I would recommend only taking it to a rover mechanic in this instance, at least for a proper diagnosis. You may need to find a shop who has spare test parts available, this fault could be caused by many engine control systems.
