How is a Slipping Clutch caused? Can it be caused by one off use, or is it more typically a wear and tear issue?

Hi there,
A slipping clutch is due to worn or damaged linings on the friction disc.
This is developed over time with age and kms, normal wear and tear.
Or it can be due to driver error, towing large loadsect, riding the clutch causing it to overheat and slip, ultimately wearing the clutch out or damaging it before its time.
As a clutch naturally wears over time, the clutch pedal will gradually engage the clutch higher and higher until eventually your foot is all the way off the pedal and the clutch is barely engaging and will slip at the slightest acceleration.
