Hi,

I currently have a 2009 Honda Accord and when driving there is a rattling type noise with acceleration. I have also noticed that when driving on a steep gradient there is a loss of power and it goes quite slow up the hill when it never used to. The engine light and vsa light are also showing. The engine light stays on but the vsa light only comes on when you start the engine in the early morning and after that it will go away. Just wondering what kind of problem this could be.

Thanks

Lauren

Hi Lauren,
The VSA is Hondas stability control, it should illuminate momentarily upon start-up and then switch off. If it illuminates along with the engine check/ warning light, then there is a problem in the system that prevents it from operating.
I recommend you visit a workshop in your area so they can read the fault codes and find out what is causing the troubles. The rattling noises when accelerating can be caused by a fuel, timing or engine issue and is best to get checked at the same time.
