I have a 2005 NZ new Nissan Maxima with standard tyres 205/65 R16.
This seems to be an uncommon size and there is a much larger range
of slightly wider 215/60 R16 tyres available.
My question is: Will the 215/60 R16 fit, and will the
stability/traction control still work?

Hi there,
You may need a tyre specialist to check that the wheel rim width is compatible with a 215 tyre.
The size difference between the two tyres is a few centimetres, and it is calculated that at 100kmh the speed difference from the previous tyres is 1.3kmh higher.
Stability/ traction control shouldn't change, but you will need a tyre specialist to check that the wider tyres wont cause any issues on the body work or suspension components.
