Hi - I recently bought a 2012 Subaru Forester X (114K) which I am very happy with but have been told they are known to be excessive oil users. Have you had any indication whether this is true or not? Many thanks.

Having had a lot of experience with Subaru vehicles, this is definitely not true.
Excessive oil usage would only be found if the engine or turbo had a serious problem.

Cade,why was my comment re subaru oil consumption deleted?It is a fact that there was a class action against Subaru in the usa.I intend to make a complaint to tha aa management about your bias
