Hi
I needed to get the front brake pads replaced on my 1998 Toyota Prado. I was expecting a bill of maybe $250 maximum given pad replacements in the past. The bill came to $380.74. with labour coming to $170 and outwork coming to $88 because aparently they 'had to machine the front disks. Does this bill seem reasonable to you or a bit high?
Thanks Marion.

Hi there,
Yes this would seem justified if they had to machine the front discs, as they can be a bit of a process in a 4wd vehicle. It sounds like this time the job wasn't your typical brake pad only replacement, every now and then a little extra is required. An itemised account will be able to give an idea of all the individual charges. Labour charge sounds ok as does the machining charges (they might have had to remove the discs and send to get machined).
