Hi there,

I have just noticed that my engine coolant level Is near the low line. I am a typical female that doesn't know much about cars, but I know that this is serious if I don't get it sorted quickly.
(I drive a Suzuki Swift 2007 hatchback model)

Is there a certain type of engine coolant that I should be using to top it up or can I buy any type of engine coolant?

Thanks,
Chantal

Hi there,
You should be able to just top it to just under the full mark with fresh water without causing any issues.
I do recommend getting your cooling system checked just to make sure there are no leaks starting to show. The coolant level should be fairly stable, so if it is getting low it is best to get it checked out.

Thanks for that Cade.

Also, what type of oil should I be using for my car?

Thanks

Hi there,
Castrol recommend a 10w30 stop/start or 10w40 grade oil if your vehicle is 1300cc (1.3litre engine)
And juts the 10w40 if you have the 1500cc (1.5litre engine)model.
