My cam chain needs to be replaced. My car is 10 years old with 120,000 kms. I purchased it privately and was the 3rd owner. It has been fully serviced up to the 105kms service.
I believe cam chains are expected to last 200,000-300,000kms. This is a recognised fault with the car maker. Are the liable under the consumee guarantees act? Thanks

Hi there,
Ten years 120km is well out of the realms of a manufacturers warranty and I don't expect they would be liable for repairs needed, unless a recall is involved.
