I have a JDM 2000 Subaru Forester auto. Recently I have 4 new tires fitted and a wheel alignment done. My question is to do with Camber. The final setting results on the car are Front Left neg 0deg 27 min and front Right plus 0 deg 11 min. total -0 deg 38 min. When i questioned the company about why the difference I was told " because of the high camber on New Zealand roads the left is always different. Is this correct?
The car has camber adjusting bolts fitted as standard.
When I last had the car check and an alignment done the figure were front left -1 deg 21 min and front right 0 deg 45 min. the spec for the car is 0 deg 15min.+/- 0 deg 30min.
The last set of tires did 60,000Km and had very even wear when replaced(before they needed to be changed. I am suspicious as to the skill of the alignment operators as they frequently change staff and I have tripped them up previously on their knowledge.
Should I request them to set the car up as per the manufactures specifications or are these setting okay? At $750 for a set of tires its worth getting correct at the start.

Hi there,
I would definitely get a second opinion, it may be local knowledge to alter the alignment to suit NZ roads. The specs may be for factory cars in Japan, and might not reflect our conditions. But it will be better to check, as you say tyres don't come cheap and you want as much life out of them as possible.
