Further to my question of 16 hours ago- Would replacing the gear box oil improve the situation or would that make little difference? Bert

Hi Burt, This would the first thing I would do before delving into major rebuilds, a good transmission service and maybe the internal filter would need to be looked at and replaced. Possibly best to consult a specialist to check fluid condition beforehand, so you don't waste your money if the fluid is already in good condition or has been replaced recently.
