when taking off from intersections lights ect the car revs really loud is this normal seems to be getting worse. We have taken it and had checked out they say its normal but sounds like its slow into changing into gear it needs.

This does sound typical of a cvt transmission, they are a 'one' speed so do hold the revs high as the speed increases. And even more so when in a sport mode, so just check that.
They to give a slipping sensation also, if in doubt consult a transmission specialist if you haven't already.
