Is it not covered under the road assist? My car broke down on road. Instead of fixing it then and there the guys towed away. (while the job should be pretty straight forward for you. correct me if I am wrong)
No body willing to give any estimates.
What things to be done.

Hi there,
If there is has been Diesel fuel in a petrol car and you have driven it till it stopped.
There is quite a bit to do to repair, and not something you can just fix in the side of the road. Roadside assist is designed to get you to safety or to the nearest workshop, not mobile mechanic to fix your car.
The fuel will need draining and refilling with clean petrol, often not easy as there is not usually a fuel tank drain plug. Also you will need a new fuel filter, sparkplugs will need cleaning and possibly replacing. The fuel system will need flushing through to get the old diesel out, and the vehicle may run rough and smoke for a while till it all clears.
Hard to quote, as you never know exactly what will be damaged by diesel contamination.

VW Passat 2004 v5 petrol auto - has a drain plug in the fuel tank? Can some one pump out the fuel? Do you think it will have any major impact on car engine? (tank has approx. 5l of diesel in it). Plus I am still not sure if I had filled the diesel in car or its a problem with the fuel pump. (am assuming it was diesel coz I just came out of gas station and problem started) . Are sizes of fuel inlet(for petrol & diesel) different at petrol stations?

Hi there,
I don't think it will have a lasting impact on the engine, but depending on the system it may take a bit to clear contaminants out. Some high pressure fuel systems may not handle diesel fuel in them. I don't know specific details of how your vehicle will be affected or if the tank has an external drain.
Later model vehicles have changed the fuel inlet sizes to prevent such cases, not sure if yours is the same.
You will need to get the vehicle to a workshop for a full assessment of what has happened and how many parts need cleaning or replacing. This may take a while and the cost not be evident until parts get cleaned and the vehicle is running again.

IS Suckie Moto your partner? They said they could have had fixed problem on the spot as they have all necessary equipment with them in their vehicle. Just wondering why your mechanic did not recommend it. It was definitely better than towing. :(

No they are not associated with the AA as far as I'm aware.
Like I said, if your car stopped, then it's not just the fuel in the tank to worry about. It goes way beyond that, and not something to fix on the side of the road!.

Off the topic. But your call center people are horrible. They said their mechanic asked me to contact Suckie moto yesterday. They will not tow my car to correct AA service center. AA st lukes is busy till Monday and they don't have hoist, so they probably wont be able to fix my car. They said its my mistake. How am I suppose to know this stuff before reaching to a service station? The lady offered free tow last night which they are not willing to offer me now. It is horrible. Can you please look in to it.
