My car has two perfectly good tyres (in terms of depth of tread) on the front, but showing some sign of wear on one side the tyre. AA Service recommended a wheel alignment before further damage.

I took the car to Eden Tyres (in MT Eden AKL)

They said the car need two new tyres before a wheel alignment could be done.

I think this is not necessary, and they should be able to check the mechanics of the Wheel alignment and set the toe in and cambers regardless - or are they correct? Never happened to me before in this situation.

Hi there,
This does sound strange, they may think the damage is done and the tyres will wear the same way regardless of the wheel alignment.
But this should not stop a wheel alignment from being carried out. Sometimes the tyres can be fitted to the rear to try and spread the wear a bit.
