Hatchback Struts Making A Noise

When I open my hatchback I get a lot of clicks and groans from the struts as they attempt to reach the full open position.

Is there some lubricant I can put on them to get rid of this noise, or is it a sign of another problem?

Hi there,
You could try lubricating the hinge points with CRC or WD40, otherwise they may need a closer look and possible re-gas or replacement.

Thanks for the reply - I don't think it is the hinge points - but I will give them a squirt.
