Hi there, we have 1996 Toyota Granvia 3.0 D.
More recently she is having a real issue with cold starts, the glow plugs were replaced last year, and despite say counting to 30 with the ignition on she hates to start first time, often just turning over and over without firing up. The worst days can take 3 attempts. Once started no problems restarting, just hates the initial cold starts. Always serviced every 6 months. Any ideas???

It does sound suspisiously like glow plugs. I would get them tested and the actual glow plug timer/ control checked. Also make sure the correct glow plugs for the vehicle were used.
I recommend seeing a diesel specialist.
