I purchased a Honda Fit 2005 from a dealer in June this year based on a very good report received from AA pre-inspection service. The car had done only 48,000km when I purchased it. The car is running well and I am happy with my purchase. However, what I notice is, if I have to stop the car at a slightly uphill part of the road, I feel that the car is trying to drift backwards slightly on take -off unless I change my foot from the brakes to the accelerator really fast. This car got automatic transmission and the automatic cars which I owned previously didn't behave like that. Therefore I was concerned about it and spoke to the sales rep I bought the car from. He informed me that he took two similar cars from his yard on a test drive and they both do the same thing. He was under the impression that it is common to this model. I would like to get your expert opinion on this.
Thank you,
Savitri

Hi there,
From what I have experienced, I would think this is fairly normal. Some cars offer anti roll-back incorperated into their brake systems to prevent this. And some transmissions have
different ways of maybe disengaging when the vehicle is stopped so that your car is not always trying to drive away.
