Hi - I have a 2004 Honda CRV with 89,000k on the clock. My question is: Does this model have a cam belt and if so should I think about having it replaced?
Many thanks for your help. Jim
Hi Jim,
Our information shows that if your car is a 2.4ltr engine it has a chain and does not have a need for replacement. However the 2.0ltr can be chain or belt, so it might pay to get comfirmation of this as 2002 was the changeover between belt to chain drive.
Generally cambelts require replacement at 100,000kms. So if it is cambelt driven, i would replace it soon.
Many thanks. Fortunately I have the 2.4l model so that saves me a few bob. Thanks again. Jim
