My 2004 Toyota Ist when stopping at lights etc seems to me to be "coughing and spluttering " to use a metaphor. It is like it wants to "cut" out.

The dealer suggests that there may be some water in the leads or somewhere when the car was groomed.

What do you think? I had the car for just on a month.

Thank you

Dave

Hi there,
There is a possibility of moisture down the sparkplug tubes causing missfire at idle.
Especially if there has been water sprayed around the engine.
The symptoms could suggest a few possible faults, as Ht leads, or even worn sparkplugs.
I recommend getting it looked at before fault gets worse and the car stops on you.
