Hi,
I have some doubts related to car cooling, appreciate a response to this:
- Is the engine coolant same as the engine oil and usually what is the average
time period when it needs to be changed or refilled?
Any way to find out the current levels by oneself?
- When does the water in the engine sides needs changing and how to get check
this?
I own a Mazda 3 hatchback.
Thank you.
Coolant is the liquid in the radiator - not the oil. You can check it yourself, but I'd suggest that if you don't know about cars, perhaps it's best left alone and left for your mechanic. An engine in good condition should never use coolant.
As a generalisation, coolant and brake fluid replacement intervals are around 24 months.
