Hi there,

I have a 1988 Ford LTD, the fuel cap is behind the number plate at the rear. Unfortunately, the number plateis no longer folding down as it typically does when you press the button in the car. Do you have any ideas of being able to access the fuel cap (it's difficult to tell how the release mechanism operates)?

Hi Shanan,
This will be operated by a solenoid, however none of the data I have available actually pinpoints exactly where to access the solenoid to slide it back in order to open the fuel flap. However, most of these types of fuel flap operate by a solenoid located driectly behind the flap (ie; inside the boot).
