2014 Kia Cerato 2L XS
When the car is started, the radio comes on. We turn it off, back out of the garage or move off and the radio comes back on again.
Can this feature be turned off so that the radio on/off can be operated manually.
Note: When the radio is in the off mode, the GPS voice continues its verbal directions which indicates that the GPS audio and radio audio are separate functions.

Under normal circumstances, if the radio is on, it should mute by itself when you reverse, then revert to being on when you select Drive.
If the radio is off, it should stay off regardless of whether the car is in Reverse or Drive. If it is off but comes on by itself when you select Drive, that's not right.
I'd suggest you get your car to your Kia dealer to rectify the problem, as the radio should be able to be turned off as you suggest.

As an update - we've just been speaking to the technical people at Kia NZ, and this is a problem they're aware of and working on. It's likely to be a software glitch.
As we said, still speak to your Kia dealer and hopefully they'll have a fix available fairly soon.
