I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla travelled 85,000 kms and the airbag warning light has come up on the dash panel and doesn't turn off. Is this a major problem?

Yes, there will be a problem and until it is sorted the airbag system will shut down and be inoperative.

It is also a Warrant of Fitness requirement for the warning light to work normally.

You need to take the vehicle to a garage where they have the necessary scanning tools to identify the source of the fault.

It may get expensive so ensure the garage keeps you updated on progress and costs.
