Hi there,
I was wondering whether you guys can recommend me a place which buys/sells used tyres?

When I bought my car recently (jdm) , the dealer put in 2 new front tyres.
However they are chinese branded (it's not even a known brand) and it's really noisy and transmits lots of shocks through the cabin.

So I am planning on replacing all the tyres soon (the rear ones are 80% worn out) with a wider one (still within the man.spec located in driver's door) (from 175 70/r14 ....to 185 70/r14).
Btw, would this increase stability in anyway ? the car is a corolla Runx.

And since the front ones are only about 10% worn , I'm thinking I can still sell it at a price.

Thanks in advance!

The other forum users might have some recommendations for you.

In this size tyre you will find affordable (budget) new tyres at any reputable tyre shop (Bridgestone, Firestone, Goodyear, GT Radials, etc). A new tyre should be preference as with used tyres you do not know the history of the tyre and often it is tyres with similar names to the ones you currently have on the front of your vehicle.

You are unlikely to notice the difference in the tyre size as it is only a minimal difference.

Hi Donovan.
Very sorry for the misunderstanding.

What I meant was:

The 2 front tyres that the dealer put in are brand new but cheap nonbranded chinese made ones.
I plan on replacing all 4 tyres with brand-new ones (from one of the brands you mentioned).

But my question is, since the 2 front tyres from the dealers are 80% new as of now , would I be able to sell them used and get abit of $$$ from it ? If so, do you know a place where I can sell that?

Thanks :)

Yes, you could sell the used tyres (as long as they will pass a WOF) and Trade Me might be the best place to sell them - but be honest on your description of the tyre and why you are selling them. Not aware of a tyre shop that would buy them but you can ask the question when you go to fit the new tyres.
