The ABS warning light remains on in my Subaru Legacy station wagon. Could this just be a sensor or is this more serious ??

Sensors are one of the most common failures in ABS systems, so it could be a sensor, but theres no way of knowing until it is scanned and diagnosed, so it could be something else. You'll need to get it checked out by your mechanic or auto-electrician.
