I recenlty took my car in for a service. Afterwards, on my way home, I experienced a problem where the car would just die, would lose power steering, and indicator/hazard lights wouldn't work. It struggled to start again but I made it home. Could I expect the Mechanic to take responsiblity for what has happened? I assume it comes down to them being honest in if they accidentally made a mistake.

Thanks,

It really depends on what the problem is. The mechanic should take responsibility if he caused the problem, but if it turns out to be (for example) a faulty battery, there's nothing he could really have done during the service that could cause this.
However, you should definitely get him to check it out and hopefully he will come clean if he caused the problem and rectify it for you.
As you say, it comes down to honesty.
