Hi AA,

I have booked in my car for a Silver Car Service at an AA centre. The car is a 2000 Ford Laser. At my last WOF about 4 weeks ago i was told the brake pads and rotors are low.

How much is this likely to cost to fix? Do you think i should tell the AA when i drop the car in for the service to look out for this or will they notice themselves? I know this will be an extra cost on top of the service. The brakes have been squeakig a bit at times in the last few days so i aim to sort this out next week.

I took my car for a WOF somewhere other than the AA. This is the first time i will have taken the car to the AA.

Yes, the best bet is to let the service centre know and ask them for a quote. As you say, obviously it will be added cost but it would be more convenient to have the job done at the same time as the service.
