Hi team,

We purchased our hatchback thanks to your advice, very happy thanks.

We are looking for a practical horse float tow vehicle, probably a used Toyota Hilux SR5. We think it's probably more useful in terms of loading up muddy gear in the back compared to a Prado or similar. A dealer mentioned that Toyota has currently got a special deal on replacing the injectors (about $1800 when it's normally double that cost, apparently).
We are interested in a tidy 2006 model which has done 70,000km with service history.

Should we be worried about the injectors now?

Or is this an issue with Hilux which will need to be proactively fixed down the track at a certain mileage (eg. before xxx,000km), or something to be tackled only if a problem arises?

Last question: what does your team think of the Mazda BT-50 in comparison with the Hilux? They seem a bit cheaper, so you get a newer model for the same price.

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'd take the approach that if it's not broken, why fix it? At 70,000km there should be a fair bit of life left in them and would leave well alone for now.
In answer to your question regarding the BT-50, this has also been a popular vehicle and one which we'd have no hesitation in recommending either. The new model BT-50 and Ford Ranger (which are essentially the same) are outstanding models, but obviously priced accordingly.
