Have just bought a imported car with these tyres on.Am concerned about there safety on the road and whether they are legal for normal road running.

Snow tyres are perfectly legal. They are really designed for low temperature climates where the temperature often falls below 7 degrees, but can be used on normal roads. They must have a minimum of 4mm of tread instead of 1.5mm for conventional tyres, and must not be mixed with conventional tyres. This is the biggest downside really, in that if you can't replace one tyre, unless it is with a snow tyre.
