Hi, I have a 93 Corolla FX GT 20v hatch. I have a problem with the brake light switch which I understand also controls the release of the automatic transmission after starting the car. I know of the manual override button to maually release the transmission. Trying to remove the brake light switch but it appears that the nut I have to remove is welded onto bracket.Any help?

The nut is meant to be welded in place. It is the switch that you have to turn (anti-clockwise) to remove it.
